We have the position for as an Intern Analyst supporting our Health Solutions practice!

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our offices

What the day will look like

  • Join a dynamic team of analysts, actuaries, and business experts passionate about crafting and building healthcare data and analytics products;
  • Build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively on cross functional teams with colleagues, clients and carriers;
  • Handle data requirements, gather information on client requirements, analyze and report on data;
  • Understand and use on-premises and cloud-based data warehouse/data lakes such as Snowflake and Databricks;
  • Understand, use and query SQL databases, Entity relationship diagrams (ERD), including ETL, Databricks data pipelines and Snowflake Lakehouse compute;
  • Implement automation and efficiencies wherever possible to streamline the process, minimizing the need for manual intervention, predominantly with Python and R programming;
  • Proficient in data visualization using PowerBI, including data modelling
  • Evaluate, design, and implement sophisticated analytics solutions to address business needs;
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the group benefits industry, systems, products, trends, and emerging technology, while having a thorough understanding of how these relate to group insurance consulting; and
  • Participate in functional team activities which support the operations of the practice.

How this opportunity is different

As an Intern Analyst, you will be part of Aon’s National Analytics team, supporting advanced analytics and reporting in the servicing of existing clients and prospects.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Demonstrate analytical skills and creativity to quickly integrate information, identify trends, draw conclusions and provide meaning to data;
  • Practical knowledge in SQL, Python, and BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau);
  • Knowledge in ETL processes, both design and implementation, including understanding of GitHub;
  • Applied statistics skills such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.;
  • Understanding standard methodologies to ensure the longevity and efficiency of data-centric projects
  • Extensive technical skills, advanced understanding of databases, experience reporting and analyzing data using advanced functions through Microsoft Excel and Access;
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Ability to work closely as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, ability to meet deadlines, and work on several projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to discover, ask key questions and seek for mentorship where appropriate.
  • Interest to think beyond day-to-day tasks and understand how your work aligns to the success of Aon’s Health Solutions practice;

Education

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field
  • Previous experience working in financial services or insurance environment working in group benefits or group underwriting department, would be considered an asset;
