About the Role

  • 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

AWS Boost is the single point of entry for Data Center Technicians and Data Center Managers to perform work safely, securely and efficiently across AWS Data Centers worldwide. As the "People" pillar of AWS Boost, our team provides the centralized work and people management system that equips Data Center (DC) Technicians, Data Center Managers, and Cluster leaders with essential tools consolidated into a unified solution.

We are looking for software engineers who are excited about building industry leading, next generation services for the AWS data centers. In this role you will be responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of highly scalable distributed systems that provide availability, scalability and latency guarantees. In addition you will be expected raise the standards of the organization by mentoring junior engineers, interviewing and raising the bar for coding standards. This is a highly visible program across multiple organizations where you will have the opportunity to have a huge impact.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own, design, build and deliver end to end solutions for high impact ambiguous business problems
  • Grow more junior engineers and be a force multiplier in the team
  • Identify operational challenges early in the system and drive operational excellence for all the service components
  • Contribute to and lead the improvements in development processes
  • Insist on highest standards for the long term system extensibility and scalability

  • 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
