The Buying and Planning Intern will act as a key member of the Supply Chain team by providing support to the Buying / Planning teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of Supply Chain strategies
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint, or Google Suite skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications and the ability to learn and use multiple applications specific to this department, including ERP tools
  • Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers Activities

  • Redeploying Celestica’s inventory through negotiating pricing and sales, i.e. E&O Deployment
  • Working with suppliers to negotiate VMI and Replenishment Lead Time improvement programs
  • Work to reduce Days of Supply on key components, which will help with reducing overall inventory
  • Collaborating with internal IT team to develop customer requested reports
  • Work on customer data feeds, ad hoc
  • Mitigate supply chain risk by running BOM risk analysis reports, Safety Stock solutions, Inventory Optimization strategies
  • Setting up external Hubs, working with internal teams to coordinate, ad hoc
  • Quarterly freight and hub management
  • Data analysis and recommendations based on trend analysis
  • Processing rapid reports from Supply Chain Directors, ad hoc Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
