Join us for the opportunity to intern with Disney Entertainment Television's newest content brand, Onyx Collective! We create premium programming by creators of color and underrepresented voices. We usher an exciting slate of content for a global audience, including critically acclaimed debut project Questlove’s Oscar®-winning documentary “Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)”; “The Hair Tales”; legal drama “Reasonable Doubt”; award-winning documentary, “Aftershock”; comedy series “Unprisoned”; “Queenie”; and “How To Die Alone”.

If selected for this internship, you will report directly to SVP of Scripted Series.

What You Will Do

As an intern for this team, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring the day-to-day business is flowing efficiently; that the office of the President, Scripted, and Unscripted programming teams have what is needed to effectively collaborate with the various partners across the organization and within the industry as they actively develop the Onyx Collective content slate; making sure that the President is properly informed/prepared to be able to make timely business-critical decisions regarding the content that is pushed from the brand to the streaming service.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Database Management – including confidential Airtable programming & tracking grids, Contacts and Distribution Lists Updates, and Writer & Director List Updates
  • Reading incoming scripts, books, and submissions to provide coverage and thoughtful feedback in team meetings
  • Research and prepare info sheets for President’s various internal and external meetings & events
  • Schedule and attend team meetings to capture notes as needed
  • Assist the team with administrative tasks, including but not limited to covering creative executives’ desks (rolling calls, calendar management, expenses, & travel), management of office supplies, and coordinating internal event logistics as needed
  • Regular communication with the office of the President and programming teams to stay informed of priorities and needs

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office – including SharePoint, Outlook, Excel; G-Suite; Airtable
  • Self-starter who is highly organized with acute attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong sense of urgency, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Comfortable working in a sometimes ambiguous, always fast paced / start up environment
  • Ability to be flexible (pulled in many directions)
  • Experience in and curiosity for television development
  • Familiarity with the entertainment industry or is interested growing in the industry (e.g. creative development space)
  • Experience in developing and implementing processes
  • Experience working with creative executives and senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a professional environment
  • Passion for learning and eagerness to be a team player
  • General knowledge of the television industry

Education

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Senior-level standing or a recent graduate

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025

  • Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PST for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week

  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Los Angeles, CA area

  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

The pay rate for this internship in California is $22.00 per hour.
