The Global Operations Data Support Intern position is ideal for an individual with a passion for business analytics and problem solving in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to thrive in the dynamic environment. Manage commitments and changing priorities. Prioritize and re-assess schedules and tasks quickly and effectively.
  • Experience and intermediate skills with Google workspace applications, especially google sheets.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, macros, VBA, Power BI).
  • Experience with databases, analytic applications, and programming languages (e.g. data modeling, SQL, R, Java).
  • Intermediate knowledge about JavaScript and/or Google Apps Script would also be good (Apps Script is essentially just Javascript).
  • Data quality and error resolution skills, troubleshooting formula errors and addressing inconsistencies to maintain data integrity.
  • Understanding data linkage and sheets integration.
  • Willingness to learn and problem solving/analytical skills.
  • Ability to facilitate group discussions.
  • We are looking for a team player who possesses exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), is able to learn quickly, is self-motivated and has excellent analytical abilities. Activities:

  • Consolidation of raw data to create meaningful output and data visualization, including tables, graphs, and conditional formatting for trend analysis/dashboard accessibility.
  • Develop, improve and run advanced analytical models. Focus on linked spreadsheets and connectivity (which dashboards to keep track of to minimize the manual work and improve workflow).
  • Explore data sets to find patterns, trends and opportunities to improve business processes and strategies.
  • Willingness to learn and problem solving/analytical skills.
  • Validate and consolidate data, perform complex analysis, and create reports/dashboards to represent data insights.
  • Relate analytical findings to business impacts.
  • Presenting analytical concepts and findings in ways that resonate with non-technical audiences (verbal and visual communication).
  • Exploring opportunities collaboratively with business stakeholders to drawing out key facts, observations, and assumptions. Physical Demands:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
  • Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc). Additional Details:

Education: Enrolled in 3rd year of a university internship program, with the intention to return to school after completion of the internship. Enrollment in a Computer Engineering, IT, Analytics or Applied Math program is an asset.
