Summer Student- Fundraising Campaign Organizer

Jean Tweed is a leading, community-based organization that provides a supportive environment for women and their families with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns. Recognizing the diversity of women’s experience in today’s society, our programs seek to address a range of issues in a woman’s life that may contribute to substance use and gambling concerns.

The Jean Tweed Centre is building capacity to transform the level of support for women and their families with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns.

We are currently seeking a motivated Fundraising Intern to join our team and assist with various tasks related to events, promotions, communications, and administration within the fundraising and marketing department. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong communication skills who is eager to contribute to the growth of The Jean Tweed Centre's donor base and public visibility. The intern will report directly to the Senior Manager, Fund Development and Communications.

Key Qualifications:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and experience in creating engaging posts and content.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva is an asset.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation for fundraising events and related communications.
  • Support donor communications, including the drafting of thank-you letters.
  • Conduct research to identify new funding opportunities.
  • Create and schedule social media updates across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Hootsuite experience an asset
  • Draft compelling content to promote Jean Tweed's programs, services, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Fund Development and Communications.
