Job Summary:

The People and Culture Intern will have the opportunity for exposure to various aspects of human resources and gain valuable hands-on experience in a variety of HR functions. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Organize and support Porter’s orientation program for new team members
  • Work with the talent team and People and Culture Coordinators to onboard all new team members and ensure all required documentation is complete prior to the team members’ first day
  • Collaborate with the talent team in all stages of the full-cycle recruitment process
  • Assist with the creation of change forms and various administrative tasks
  • Support the People and Culture Advisors with team member relations
  • Coordinate the team member resignation process, facilitate exit interviews and track the return of company equipment
  • Monitor the general People and Culture email inbox by providing a high level of customer service, and respond to daily inquiries related to company policies, programs and procedures in a timely manner
  • Partner with the Benefits team to gather new hire benefit enrolment forms, correspond with team members on outstanding forms and update systems as necessary
  • Maintain good working relationships with team members across various stations and departments
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

Aircraft Material Handler (Co-op)

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Stores and Inventory Control, the Aircraft Material Handler is responsible for keeping accurate inventory records, shipping and receiving functions, and performing other duties as assigned. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performing receiving of aircraft parts using electronic inventory system
  • Carrying out shipping of aircraft parts
  • Carrying out Dangerous Goods Shipping as required
  • Assisting Maintenance, Inventory Control and Planning by picking and issuing aircraft parts
  • Returning any unused parts to inventory
  • Managing the shipping of Company Material (COMAT) to/from all outstations as well as the aircraft tool control
  • Loading/Off-loading of freight from various means of transportation
  • Handling AOG requirements after hours and weekends, including creating purchase orders and arranging the logistics of the required aircraft parts
  • Arranging all local pick-ups/drop-offs using courier or other approved methods
  • Warehousing skids and crates using forklift and hangar racks
  • Actively participating in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
  • Other Duties as assigned

  • Must be available to work 12 hour rotating shifts including days, overnights, weekends, and holidays - *This is a 24/7 operation

Financial Planning & Analysis - Technical Operations Co-op

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, Technical Operations - the accounting analyst will support the Technical Operations (Tech Ops) and Finance teams with reviewing and reconciling capital expenditures on a monthly basis, assist with regular tracking of headcount, help with the integration of accounting with new and existing maintenance operations software (AMOS & RAAS), and work to ensure the proper receiving of invoices into accounting software. This role will support multiple teams including Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), General Accounting, and Technical Operations. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with FP&A and Tech Ops teams to track continued hiring of maintenance engineers as compared to budget
  • Reconciliation of monthly capex purchases, and vendor credits
